STVP Virtual Summer Internship Program

The application for the STVP Virtual Summer Internship Program is now closed.

A summer 2020 internship for Stanford students powered by Stanford eCorner’s vast collection of digital resources on entrepreneurship and innovation.

During the past two decades, Stanford eCorner has amassed a truly world-class collection of videos, podcasts and articles about entrepreneurship and innovation. For this summer 2020 internship, we are inviting Stanford students to explore that digital library, meet with Stanford faculty and other entrepreneurial leaders, and build themed collections of content that will educate and guide the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future.

Program Info and Application

In the face of COVID-19, thousands of college students across the country and around the world are struggling to find summer internships. The organizations that would normally hire them are instead laying off workers as a global pandemic disrupts business models and supply chains.

In response, the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) is rethinking the summer internship, offering an opportunity for any Stanford student to have a meaningful role this summer.

We are offering up to 80 current Stanford students an opportunity to participate in STVP’s Virtual Summer Internship Program. Working online, in small teams, participants will mine our vast library of videos, podcasts and articles on Stanford eCorner to create educational content that will be used by students and teachers around the world.

Interns will not only create something of lasting value, but they’ll also learn a tremendous amount by immersing themselves in insights from entrepreneurial thought leaders over the past two decades, people like Mark Zuckerberg, Meg Whitman, Elon Musk, Melinda Gates, Sheryl Sandberg and Joe Tsai.

The program will launch in mid-June, and will include webinars and Zoom meetings with leading STVP educators and the STVP editorial team to discuss critical themes related to entrepreneurship and innovation, and receive coaching on how to curate, build and market digital collections and other educational resources. The most impactful resources created by our summer interns will be shared on the Stanford eCorner website with attribution to the curators. We expect that this program will take approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Students who complete the internship will receive formal recognition from the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, and will be entitled to share this on their resume as an official summer internship for 2020. There is no monetary compensation for this work.
