Tatiana Bellagio

Biology Eco-Evo track
Tatiana Bellagio is a PhD candidate in the Biology department on the Eco-Evo track, where she studies rapid adaptation to climate change in plants. Her research integrates experimental evolution, population genomics, and computational biology to understand how the genetic architecture of adaptive traits influences a species' ability to respond to environmental stress and to identify which genomic regions drive climate adaptation. She aims to use these insights to inform strategies in agriculture and conservation that support species persistence under current and future climate challenges. Originally from Argentina, Tatiana came to the U.S. as a Fulbright Fellow and is passionate about making science, and particularly STEM fields, more inclusive. She has served as co-president of Hermanas in STEM at Stanford and, while living in Argentina, was involved in Mujeres en Tecnología, an organization focused on advancing women in tech. Outside the lab, she enjoys hot yoga, running, and meal prepping!
