Electrical Engineering
Syamantak is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering, mentored by Professor Todd Coleman (Stanford Neural Interaction Lab). Supported by the Hertz Foundation, National Science Foundation, and the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship, Syamantak's PhD research explores new approaches to bio-digital interfaces for next-generation bioelectronics and medical devices. As a NeuroTech Trainee and Stanford Knight-Hennessy Scholar, Syamantak is particularly focused on cross-disciplinary engineering for applications in neurotechnology and pediatric health. In the past, he has worked on technologies ranging from solar panel coatings to digital spacesuits, and cares deeply about connecting research with education and public policy. In his free time, Syamantak enjoys playing violin, photographing wildflowers, and going on leisurely motorcycle rides around the Bay.
