Sofie Roux

Sofie Roux studied sustainable architecture and engineering at Stanford through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She participated in the Xfund Ethics Fellows program in 2023 and served as a student leader in 2024 and 2025. Sofie believes that grand challenges – such as achieving universal access to high quality education in science and technology (STEAM) fields – can be approached with relentless design thinking. She is the founder of BloomBox Design Labs, focusing on improving access to high quality STEAM education in low-resource environments. BloomBoxes have brought electricity, access to computers, a spectrum of educational technology, multimedia educational materials, and high-speed connectivity to 10,000 students who previously had no access. Sofie currently works as an aviation development engineer at Starlink.
