Sarah Jobalia
Computer Science
Sarah is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Graphics under the mentorship of Ron Fedkiw. Her work combines generative AI with traditional graphics pipelines to build virtual realistic human avatars. She is specifically interested in using diffusion techniques to build tools for representing hair types that are traditionally difficult or impossible for artists to create. Through this work she hopes to simplify and democratize character generation for video and virtual games. She completed her B.S degree in Stanford mathematics and spent two years working at Microsoft building DirectX. Outside of research, Sarah is an avid artist focusing in book binding and ceramics.
