Kristen Corlay Sanmiguel
M.S. Sustainable Design & Construction
Kristen is a Master’s student in Sustainable Design and Construction, driven to build water technologies that serve drought-vulnerable communities. From Monterrey, Mexico, she holds a Civil Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University, where she was the student commencement speaker. She co-founded Cabilde, a civic-tech platform expanding access to Mexican congressional data, and conducted mobility metrics research at the JHU Center for Systems Science and Engineering. At Stanford, she led an affordable housing design team to national recognition and co-led a Climate Ventures team advancing wastewater nutrient recovery. A storyteller at heart, she tutors public speaking at the Hume Center. When she’s not reading about cities, she’s dancing, rock climbing, or chasing live music across the Bay.
