Derrick Buchanan

Dr. Derrick Buchanan is an author, Stanford TEDx speaker, educator, inventor, serial founder, and international award winning PhD Clinical Neuroscientist. Dr. Buchanan is originally from Ottawa, Canada, now residing at Stanford University Department of Psychiatry since 2021. Dr. Buchanan specializes in neuropsychiatry and researches ways to use precision brain imaging to create new brain stimulation treatments for mental health and neurological diseases. In the last 5 years Dr. Buchanan led one of the world’s largest clinical trials using precision brain stimulation for patients with treatment resistant depression. Dr. Buchanan also spent 5 years teaching 10 courses related to Neuropsychiatry, Neurotechnology, and Clinical Neuroscience. His teachings have reached thousands of students and audiences in over a dozen countries.
