Environmental Systems Engineering & Sustainability Science and Practice (MS)
Athena Muhammad is a senior studying Environmental Systems Engineering with a focus on chemical processes and coastal engineering. She is passionate about improving global water infrastructure to help cities face oncoming environmental challenges. Athena hopes to develop new coastal flood-mitigation systems and resilient urban waterways that ensure everyone has access to clean water. At Stanford, she conducted bioengineering research in the School of Medicine on artificial organs and data infrastructure. Beyond engineering, Athena enjoys writing and directing films, recently working on a conservation project with the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens. She is excited to merge storytelling, design, and engineering to build technology that connects people and the planet with empathy.
