Anna Elizabeth Roth
Anna is a junior at Stanford studying Economics and Political Science who is passionate about how technology can be harnessed safely and sustainably across government and public institutions. Growing up as a military dependent across three countries and five states, she learned early that service, adaptability, and community are foundational values she carries as an Army ROTC cadet, ASSU Senator, and researcher at the Hoover Institution. Drawn to the ethical questions surrounding technology in defense and national security, she gained firsthand experience last summer working at a defense technology company, and explored how emerging tools are integrated into mission-critical environments. At Oxford last winter, she joined the Oxford AI Safety Initiative to examine how AI can be developed responsibly and with long-term societal welfare in mind. Anna wants to build products that don't just innovate, but that prioritize safety, sustainability, and human welfare from the ground up.
