Alex Toews

Alex is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at Stanford. He is passionate about democratizing access to health care through technological innovation. His doctoral research develops computational imaging algorithms to extend clinical MRI into challenging anatomical environments and onto emerging low-cost hardware. Outside Stanford, Alex has worked at several tech startups and research labs in surgical devices, collaborative robotics, and personalized medicine, taking on roles from R&D to product manager and co-founder. In his free time, he enjoys performing music and comedy, organizing open mic events, and leading backpacking trips. Alex is eager to apply his multifaceted background to roles at the intersection of technology, leadership, and impact.
