"Before coming to Stanford, I ran a small business selling the skateboards I designed. ENGR 145 totally changed my mindset towards entrepreneurship by demonstrating the power of technology and software, and how it can scale to millions of people and make an impact. There is usually a gate on entrepreneurial classes such as Lean Launchpad – I never got in. Luckily, I had the passion and motivation to keep going. There are “hidden” entrepreneurial classes to learn the methodologies and to work on your ideas. For me, pursuing projects and exploring my curiosity was my most powerful learning experience for entrepreneurship. Many athletes I know pursue ideas revolving around their sport, which I think is a great way to leverage your credibility. But I wanted to solve a different problem outside of my sport."
